Pregnancy photoshoot

Despite the main focus of this blog being on food, my other great passion is photography. I actually opened this blog with the intention to share both recipes and photos of the food I eat, and often the emphasis is actually more on the photos. Photography is my biggest passion, and probably the longest-running hobby I have. I consider myself mostly a landscape photographer, with a thing for occasional portraiture. This blog was actually meant to push myself to grow in still life photography, a field I have never had the chance to explore much.

Yesterday I had the pleasure and honour to shoot the very last week of pregnancy of two new friends I made here. The baby (that is expected to be a girl, and to whom were dedicated the most recent cupcakes I baked) should be born any day now, so it’s not too long before we get to meet her. In the meantime, I had the parents posing for me, in the background of the beautiful Swedish countryside.

I say it is a pleasure and an honour because it always feels great to have people trust you for what you do. I had never done a maternity photoshoot before, but I tried to focus on the subjects and capture their feelings in this very special moment of their lives. In the end, it wasn’t very different from a wedding photoshoot, and looking at the photos I took today I realize that they convey the exact same message: love.

    1. Ahsante sana, ndugu! Nitakuonyesha mpwa wako baada ya ufikaji wake. 🙂 Sasa hivi anapiga teke tumboni mwa Bára. Dada yetu, Eva, alipiga picha zetu. Nafurahi aliweza kutusaidia na yazo! 🙂
